Halo 3 Gameplay Video

Just like Bungie promised, they’ve released a seven minute trailer featuring information about the Brutes as well as the first Halo 3 GAMEPLAY we’ve ever seen. Basically, Bungie are completely redoing the Brutes from Halo 2. They will be taking over the “role” previously filled by the Elites. One of the coolest things I’ve seen is the new animations they made, they have different animations for practically every different thing a Brute could do. And trust me, the animations are definitely “Brutish” (aka. Violent and cool).

If you think the game looks ugly (which it doesn’t), before you get your panties in a bunch remember that this is an early build, and even now the coding has surpassed what you see in the video. You can download the video on Xbox Live Marketplace, or you can view it on the PC by clicking the following links: HD Version, Standard Version

Starry Night Trailer Dissection

Mark MacDonald and Luke Smith, two journalists at GameVideos/1UP, have done a video dissection of the Halo 3 “Starry Night” trailer. They go way in depth, analyzing miniscule details such as shooting stars, things a regular gamer would never think about. The video runs about 13 minutes long, and you can check it out here: Starry Night Dissection
*Note, there is a bit of language, so don’t turn it up to loud if you might get in trouble

In other news, Injured Knee Productions have released the newest episode of their “Lost: Halostyle” series. The episode is very well done, I recommend you definitely check it out. You can find it here: Lost: Halostyle Episode 11

Halo 3 Starry Night trailer

Not a big Monday Night Football fan? Did you completely forget about the trailer? If so, never fear, we’ve got you covered.

Just a few hours ago the new Halo 3 trailer, dubbed “Silent Night” hit televisions across the country. The commercial starts off with what seems to be one of Master Chief’s childhood memories. The trailer then quickly jumps to Master Chief in the desert, wounded and getting attacked. There’s also a quick glimpse of what appears to be the MA5B Assault Rifle, as well as the new force field grenade.

Without further adoo, here’s the trailer. Enjoy:

Keep in mind, although the commercial uses Bungie’s Halo 3 models and assets, it was created from scratch by Digital Domain and not Bungie.

What? There Might not be a Halo Movie?

Robbie Bach
If you’re reading this site, you’ve probably heard of the “upcoming sometime in the future” Halo movie. Unfortunately, it now seems as if the movie is not a sureshot thing. In a recent interview, Robbie Bach, Microsoft’s President of Entertainment and Devices, hinted that if Microsoft doesn’t find an outside backer for the Halo movie, they most likely won’t make it at all.

Bach believes Microsoft itself should not be involved in the movie business, therefore, if no backer comes along, Microsoft will simply pass on the movie. Hopefully a studio picks this up, as a Halo movie would be sure to pull in big bucks. I mean honestly, the only person that could make that film flop would be the dreaded Uwe Boll.

Halo 3 Multiplayer Map Chat in 1UP Episode 56

1Up’s Episode 56 marks the end of their Halo coverage for this week, but boy do they go out with a bang. In this episode, they talk in great depth (and I mean GREAT depth, like analyzing the map on a white board depth) about 3 of Halo 3’s multiplayer maps, being High Ground, Snow Bound, and Valhalla. Start memorizing now, as they also give you lots of strategies to maximize your pwnage in Halo 3.

Halo 3

Now, for a little summary of the maps:

  • High Ground looks very cool; there are lots of various sneaky ways to move around the map and surprise some noobs.
  • Snow Bound also has lots of cool concepts; lots of combat will be spawned from Bungie’s intelligent placement of explosive barrels, weapons and see through shields.
  • Finally, Valhalla, the spiritual successor to Blood Gulch. Valhalla is a huge map, featuring a valley with 2 bases on each end, as well as different elevations to maximize chaos. There are lots of areas for cover such, as rocks and caves, which offer protection from snipers. Overall, Valhalla looks like an amazing map — not to take away from High Ground and Snow Bound, which also look fantastic.

    Halo 3 Multiplayer News

It’s here! 1UP has just posted the newest episode of the 1UP show, Season 4, Episode 5. In it, they talk about the multiplayer gameplay in Halo 3. Thats right! Actual details about the game, no more cruel teasers. This is the only place you can get this info, as the visit to Bungie was exclusive to EGM.

Unfortunately, if you’re expecting new videos or trailers, you’re gonna be dissapointed. The video is a discussion between some of the EGM staff who were lucky enough to visit Bungie. They simply talk about what they saw, what they thought, and how they reacted during the visit.

If you want to watch the episode, I suggest you get downloading, as the video is very large, approximately 344 - 977 mb, depending on format and resolution. You can check out this exclusive video here: Halo 3 Multiplayer

$500 Halo 3 Masterchief Stained Glass up on eBay

I found another cool Halo auction on Ebay. This time its a leaded stained glass Halo 3 window made by Jacob’s Stained Glass in Buffalo, NY. The price is $500 right now; unfortunately, it is only available for local pickup in Buffalo. This intricate piece even includes reflective orange glass for the visor! You can check out the auction here: Halo 3 Stained Glass

In other news, you may have forgotten, but today is Halo 2’s birthday! Halo 2 is now 2 years old and still going strong.

Black Guard has collected an awesome set of Halo 2 cakes from around the web. You can check them out here: Halo 2 Cakes. Some of the cakes are truly works of art, my favorite is definitely Steven Evolved’s cake (in the picture above).

And finally, Dennis Powers has released the third episode of Static. You can check out the video here: Halo Static

    Halo Energy Sword on EBay

Browsing around Ebay recently, I came upon an auction with the title “Halo Energy Sword…”. Instantly intrigued, I browsed further into the listing. To my surprise and exultation, I discovered that the auction was indeed for an amazingly intricate Halo Energy sword.

The creator of the Energy Sword is the same person who sold a replica needler on EBay for $650. The current price of the sword is $230. You can check out the auction here: Halo Energy Sword

In other news, there’s a great new video remaking the 300 (a movie about ancient Sparta in which 300 Spartans fight the entire Persian army) trailer with Halo footage. The video encompasses footage from Halo 1 and 2, as well as the trailer for Halo 3. You can check the remade trailer out here: Halo 300 Trailer
