Just like Bungie promised, they’ve released a seven minute trailer featuring information about the Brutes as well as the first Halo 3 GAMEPLAY we’ve ever seen. Basically, Bungie are completely redoing the Brutes from Halo 2. They will be taking over the “role” previously filled by the Elites. One of the coolest things I’ve seen is the new animations they made, they have different animations for practically every different thing a Brute could do. And trust me, the animations are definitely “Brutish” (aka. Violent and cool).

If you think the game looks ugly (which it doesn’t), before you get your panties in a bunch remember that this is an early build, and even now the coding has surpassed what you see in the video. You can download the video on Xbox Live Marketplace, or you can view it on the PC by clicking the following links: HD Version, Standard Version

Word is spreading around that Halo 3 will offer gamers the ability to play as the berserkers we know as “Brutes”. According to some Euro bloggers, a new Halo 3 trailer will be landing on Live Marketplace on December 20th, in which the Brutes will be featured as a playable race. The posts also claimed that the video, which will run about seven minutes, will contain 2 and a half minutes of actual Halo 3 gameplay! The first we’ve ever seen.
Both PlatoniX and YLA G, who are the owners of the two blogs, are listed as Xbox Ambassadors on Xbox.com. However, keep in mind that doesn’t give them special privelages and they didn’t cite any credible sources.
Is it fact or is it fiction? Theres no way to no for now. However, I wouldn’t put it past Bungie for them to have a few tricks up their sleeve.

One intrepid painter, inspired by yesterday’s Halo 3 trailer, decided to do a speed painting depicting one of the trailer’s scenes. This guys named *Rahll, well, thats his DeviantArt name, and hes an amazing painter. I highly recommend you check out the painting here: Halo 3 Painting. Its hard to believe he accomplished all that in under 2 hours.

In other news, a Halo 3 theme has been released on Xbox Live Marketplace based on the recent trailer. Before you run off to download it, I should warn you that its not free. The theme costs about 150 points, but the cool factor is definitely worth the money spent.

Microsoft just released a brand new 360 ad involving cops and robbers. Of course, you can’t have cops and robbers without cars, and thats where things get interesting. If you look closely at the ad, the license plates of the cars are: “GOW 1106″ and “HA LO307.” GOW 1106 could possibly stand for Gears of War 11/06. Coincidentally, Gears of War was released on November 6th.

This leads us to the next point, Halo 307. Could it possibly be Halo 03/07? As in Halo 3 will be released on March 7th 2007? Or is it simply Halo 3 07, as in Halo 3 will be released in 2007. I guess we won’t know for now, but it won’t stop conspiracy theories spreading all over this system of tubes we call the internet.
Check out the video below, maybe you can find some other references to games.

You may have seen my post sometime last week about Bungie releasing some new Halo 3 screenshots. Well, it seems as if I missed a coinciding Bungie article in which they disect 3 of the screenshots and tell us everything that’s happening in said screen.

They chose one screenshot each from the three multiplayer maps they’ve been recently touting, Valhalla, High Ground, and Snowbound. Especially nice is the Valhalla discussion, in which they go into detail about the brand new vehicle, the Mongoose.

Just another quick tidbit before I sign off for today, IGN has just released a 1 year retrospective on the Xbox 360, and guess what? Halo gets mentioned quite a few times. Who’da thunk it? Check it out here: IGN 360 Retrospective

If you’re reading this site, you’ve probably heard of the “upcoming sometime in the future” Halo movie. Unfortunately, it now seems as if the movie is not a sureshot thing. In a recent interview, Robbie Bach, Microsoft’s President of Entertainment and Devices, hinted that if Microsoft doesn’t find an outside backer for the Halo movie, they most likely won’t make it at all.
Bach believes Microsoft itself should not be involved in the movie business, therefore, if no backer comes along, Microsoft will simply pass on the movie. Hopefully a studio picks this up, as a Halo movie would be sure to pull in big bucks. I mean honestly, the only person that could make that film flop would be the dreaded Uwe Boll.
